Property Purchase Dates

Up to 400 days. Chaturmas and Adhik Maas are found from a wider scan than the range you pick, so a short range still has them applied.

Why these days

• Thursday and Friday lead the list — the days of Jupiter and Venus, the two planets the texts associate with wealth, contracts and lawful gain.
• The moon sits on one of the fifteen stars the texts count as favourable for acquisition — the steady, gentle and swift nakshatras together, the sharp and fierce ones left out.
• The 4th, 9th and 14th days of each lunar fortnight and the new moon are left out — the Rikta tithis and Amavasya, avoided for signing.
• Leap months (Adhik Maas) and the ancestral fortnight (Pitru Paksha) are left out.

Before you fix the date

• Check that the office is open. A date can be perfectly clean by the calendar and still be a Sunday or a public holiday — this list does not know your registrar's working days.
• Pick the hour, which matters more here than on most of these pages, because registration happens at an appointed time. Rahu Kaal is on Day Panchang.
• Have the buyer's chart read for a purchase of this size.

This list narrows a whole year down to a shortlist, reading one value per day at sunrise. A printed almanac checks the hours inside each day and allows a few more stars, so its list will be longer than this one and the two will not match date for date. Neither is a substitute for a practitioner.
