Birth time matters most here, more than on any other page in this section. One of the three checks counts from your rising sign, which changes roughly every two hours — so a birth time out by an hour or two can change the answer. What Mangal Dosha is

Mangal Dosha is the name for Mars sitting in one of a handful of houses traditionally read as difficult for marriage. It is also called Kuja Dosha and Bhauma Dosha, and someone who has it is called Manglik.

It is the single most over-weighted idea in popular astrology and it has been used to call off matches that had nothing wrong with them. What follows is worth reading before the verdict above means anything to you.

Three checks are shown because Mars is counted from three places — your rising sign, your Moon, and Venus. Any one of them is enough for the traditional verdict, which is a large part of why the category is so broad.

Where a strength percentage appears it is always shown together with the cancellations, and never on its own. Those percentages rank placements against each other; they are not a probability of anything happening.

Each cancellation shows where the rule comes from and whether it applied to your chart, so you can see what was checked rather than being handed a conclusion.

What people get wrong

“Being Manglik is unusual and serious.”
Across two thousand randomly generated charts, about 66% came out Manglik by this reading — two in three. Four houses out of twelve, checked from three different points, will catch most people. A category that broad cannot carry the weight that gets put on it.
“The verdict is final.”
Of the charts here that came out Manglik, about half had at least one recognised cancellation applying. Cancellation is the ordinary case rather than the exception, and any reading that stops at the diagnosis has stopped halfway.
“One chart is enough to decide a match.”
It is not. In matchmaking this is read against both horoscopes, and the other chart can cancel it outright — the traditional rule that two Mangliks offset each other is the best-known example. A verdict from a single chart is at most half the calculation.
“Every site should give me the same answer.”
They will not, and the disagreement is genuine. This page counts houses 4, 7, 8 and 12 and deliberately leaves out 1 and 2 — the two the northern and southern traditions each reject one of. Sites that count all six will call more people Manglik than this one does. Neither is a mistake; they are different rules.
“My birth time does not matter much.”
Here it does. About a quarter of the Manglik verdicts in that sample rested on the rising-sign check alone, and the rising sign changes roughly every two hours. If your birth time is a guess, that line is a guess too — the Moon and Venus checks are far more forgiving.

Questions people ask

I am Manglik. Does that mean I should not marry a non-Manglik?
No, and that rule of thumb is the part most worth distrusting. Traditional matching weighs many factors and Mangal dosha is one, subject to cancellations, read against both charts. Treat this page as one input to a conversation with someone who will look at everything.
Another site says I am Manglik and this one does not. Who is right?
Both, under their own rules. Check which house Mars is in for you: if it is the 1st or the 2nd, that is the difference, because this page does not count those two and says so.
What cancellations are not checked here?
Several. Almanacs vary most on this point and the site this was checked against does not publish its list at all. Four widely-repeated rules are checked and shown with their basis; a practitioner reading your whole chart may weigh others.
Is there a remedy?
Not on this page, by choice. This is the keyword where diagnose-then-sell is most common, and a page that does both is not giving you a straight answer.
