108+1 Rudraksha Mala
Japa mala · जप माला
A full mala — 108 beads plus the sumeru, usually 5 mukhi.
What it is
108 matched beads and one sumeru bead. Most of the craft is in matching diameter and colour across the strand, and in the thread or wire used.
What the classical texts associate with it
- daily chanting
- meditation practice
These are traditional associations recorded in the classical literature. They are not claims about what will happen, and nothing here is medical, financial or legal advice.
Certification
Supplied with a report on origin and bead authenticity. Rudraksha is a seed, so no two are identical: shape, size and surface vary, and the faces (mukhi) are counted on the bead you receive.
Choosing the right one
Bead diameter commonly 6–10 mm. Thread, silver capping and copper wire are the usual options and change the price substantially.
Looking after it
- Keep dry where possible; wipe with a soft cloth.
- Oil occasionally with a drop of mustard or olive oil to stop the bead drying out.
- Remove before bathing with soap or shampoo.
Ask about this
We do not list a price, because no two are the same. Tell us what you are after and we will source it and quote for the specific piece — with its report.
