8 Mukhi Rudraksha
Aath Mukhi · आठ मुखीRahu
Eight faces, for Ganesha. Linked to Rahu.
What it is
Eight clefts. Counting is where most disputes about a bead start, and eight is the point at which a lens stops being optional.
What the classical texts associate with it
- getting past obstacles
- new beginnings
These are traditional associations recorded in the classical literature. They are not claims about what will happen, and nothing here is medical, financial or legal advice.
Certification
Supplied with a report on origin and bead authenticity. Rudraksha is a seed, so no two are identical: shape, size and surface vary, and the faces (mukhi) are counted on the bead you receive.
Choosing the right one
Sold singly. Scarcer than the single-digit counts below it, and priced accordingly.
Looking after it
- Keep dry where possible; wipe with a soft cloth.
- Oil occasionally with a drop of mustard or olive oil to stop the bead drying out.
- Remove before bathing with soap or shampoo.
